Friday September 20th, at 8 p.m. in the Raoul-Jobin room, discover the masterpiece of german expressionist cinema Nosferatu, in a CineConcert. Written and directed by Gabriel Thibaudeau, the soundtrack will be performed live by the Violons du Roy. 

HARMONIOUS HORROR

Produced in 1922 by the famous F.W. Murnau, Nosferatu is one of the first adaptations of the novel Dracula by Bram Stoker. Murnau created what is now considered to be one of the first horror movies of the cinema history. 

In Wisborg, in 1838, Thomas Hutter, a young clerk happily married to Ellen, travels to Transylvania to sell a property to the mysterious count Orlok. Right from the start, Hutter realizes the special nature of the intriguing character, that we call Nosferatu.  Trying to get close to Ellen, Nosferatu scatters the plague throughout the city. 

A classic of the cinema, Nosferatu is still today studied in cinema schools. Iconic character, Max Schreck's Nosferatu is comparable to Béla Lugosi's Dracula or Boris Karloff's Frankenstein.
