And the birds rained down at the QCFF

6 August 2019 | News

The Quebec City Film Festival (QCFF), presented by Québecor and powered by Restos Plaisir, as well as MK2 | MILE END are pleased to announce that the film And the birds rained down directed and scripted by Louise Archambault will open this 2019 edition. This film is an adaptation of Jocelyne Saucier's best-selling novel of the same name. The movie cast and crew will be present and will walk the red carpet on Thursday, September 12, 2019 to the sound of the Orchestre Symphonique de musique de film de Québec (OSMFQ). The celebrations will begin with a screening of short films in the form of an outdoor Cinéconcert at Place d'Youville accompanied by the OSMFQ and will be followed by a screening of And the birds rained down from 8 p.m. in the Raoul-Jobin room at Palais Montcalm.

Acclaimed director Louise Archambault's elegaic and charming new film depicts three aging hermits in the Quebec countryside whose defiant need to live independently is increasingly endangered by nature, old age, and infirmity.
