Synopsis

Sandra Winther is a New York-based film director from Copenhagen, Denmark. Focused on capturing the stories and pulse of vibrant youth cultures and subcultures, Winther’s style builds off her experience as an editor while incorporating a documentary intimacy with moving images.
In her filmmaking, Winther seeks to bring to the forefront of the unsung heroes of today. Born out of a lifelong passion for sports, dance and music there's a pulsating energy that exists within her work.
Her documentary Lowland Kids premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in 2019 –a film which tackles the difficult subject of climate change through the eyes of two American teenagers on a sinking island in Louisiana. She received a Silver Clio the same year for her collaboration with MTV and Beats by Dre for the short documentary Lit! Above the Noise featuring Mette Towley.
Winther is currently developing concepts for television and cinema. Her commercial clients include Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Beats By Dre, MTV, i-D and more.
